being true
as the time gets closer for my book class (Dipped & Sewn) with the Book Maker’s Collective, I find myself a little nervous.
not to teach, (well maybe…. lol- there are quite a few of you joining me) but about the technology. I always say “I am only techie enough to be dangerous” and that is the truth…. so fingers crossed that everything works how it is supposed to.
and (laying it all out here for you today….) the reality is, is that I am an introvert. I can be an extrovert when times call for it, but just between you and me…. I like the quiet studio time by myself. listening to my music and making a huge mess and stuffing everything into the sewing machine.
that being said….. I love teaching and sharing what I know.
sometimes that may mean stepping outside of my comfort zone and being willing to embrace my non-techie, quirky, awkward self.
showing you how I embrace the imperfection.
reminding myself to only look at mine. do I like mine? yes? than I am good- even when mine doesn’t look like the others…... and if I am not happy, working it until I am; even if that means almost complete re-do- that is why there is gesso or masking tape or more paper and glue…… there is always another way.
if you look closely at the pic- my ring says, “Be true to your dreams”…… and teaching live on-line is part of being true to my dreams of teaching and sharing my work.
