break through..... painting

i had extra time working in the studio this last weekend because of a spring blizzard. and so while i was there i had been working on several projects..... one of which was a series of paintings on canvas.

my first set didn't quite work how i was thinking; but, i did end up liking the finished end.

and the one above...... not gonna lie.... a little victory dance as i felt like i had cracked the painting code. at least for me anyway.

the trick was painting drier until i was further along in the painting; and the mix of white and payne's grey to balance out my painting.
