Paper personality
Contemplating and piecing. building a page. only to be folded and manipulated to fit what i think will work.
the reality is, is that the paper decides. It will have its’ own voice. Decisions on where it wants to fold and how it wants to be.
and some wonkiness will remain. paper personality if you will.
but delightfulness all the same.
i am wondering if there is such a thing as “paper speak?” do you hear some papers that whisper to you? you just know you need that piece of paper. to use, or keep- knowing it will find the right spot at some point. sometimes it is something you see, or notice, that catches your eye; other times, it is the paper itself. like that craft polka dots on black background…. just love that paper. will be sad when it is all gone- but, i will guarantee that I will use it all.
love the bits of fabric that i added. softness where needed. visual and textural change. cue.
and the decision to add the cardboard piece….. added another detail. a change is size. visual temperature- and yet, it worked so nice with the rest of the neutrals. it was a strange, interesting piece and fit so nicely. built for something else, and yet, spoke so clearly when i was making this, that it had to be added.
the sari ribbon used as a closure came from a yarn shop on the city square. hand dyed. beautiful. and perfect for this little gem.
