Oh whimsical girl
oh whimsical girl.
may you always draw where your lines lead you.
may the drip add the just the right amount.
and may your cheeks forever be rosy.
always.
may you always listen to the inner, soulful whispers.
and wear the mismatched colors that makes you smile.
do you draw without looking?
if you worry while drawing about your lines or draw “tight”, I would recommend simply placing the pen/ pencil to paper and look away, or draw with your eyes closed and imagine what you are drawing.
Let your mind imagine what it looks like.
So freeing.
I added the coffee drip, polka dots and rouge after the initial doodle.
and I love her whimsy; which otherwise, could not, would not, be captured when looking.
I would also encourage you to be bold with the lines. No need to be soft and barely there- go ahead and draw with good pressure and if you feel the need to erase (which is almost a naughty word here), it just adds to the story of the drawing- no matter what it is. The impression left behind will pick up paint, ink, or anything else you are adding differently and will automatically add interest.
much love always to those who venture to read to the bottom.

here is a “face” post from several years ago, and still makes me smile.
