Faces- Progress
Let’s talk progress for a moment.
If you are new here, or even if you have been following me for a while,…… you still may not know how long I have been blogging. I started in 2009 mostly to be able to look back at my own progress as an artist and to track my creative journey.
As an artist, we all start somewhere. Trust me when I say this.
I took a “portrait” class from an artist by the name of Myra Waknov years ago to push myself. We all drew from one picture the entire week. Different variations, colors, and sizes. I vividly remember avoiding the hands. When I look back at what I produced during the class, there is only one painting that I even attempted to draw the hands in.
But that class lead me to participate in the 29 Faces that occur a couple of times a year.
As I worked the 29 faces, I did the work all in one art journal. So it is super fun to look back now and see my progress all captured in one space.
Here is a link to look back at previous blog posts at my work during the 29 Faces.
The more you make. Create. Make a mess. Learn how products works. Ideas will come and more creativity will follow. And lessons are learned along the way.
I show this because I did really like how this girl turned out. she is painted on a wooden cradle with acrylic paint.
I created this in one of Kara Bullock’s Let’s Face It 2022 weekly lessons.
And as I contemplating this post, I felt that it was important to show some humble beginnings. Good to share where I have come from.
Thank you for being here.
