typed words/ poetry

I fancy myself a pseudo writer. Someone who writes when the moment strikes and certainly in my own style and voice. Aka- which probably means it doesn’t fit any of the guidelines or rules and would make an English teacher get out the red pen.

But, at this point in my life and especially after the past year and a half, letting some of that poetic voice and creativity out, i feel, is super important.

I found myself thinking these words and the need to get them onto paper. I could have wrote the words and that would have been ok, but i was in my studio and i do keep my typewriter out for just these moments and ease of getting paper stuffed into it to capture these thoughts.

My electric typewriter is great, but has sticky letters lending itself to fit into my style perfectly with the misspelled words. I wasn’t exactly the best speller growing up- would get mostly close, but probably off by a letter or two… so somehow this seems to be in sync with my soul.

Funny how things like this find their way to you.

If you are in the Sioux Falls, SD area and are familiar with the free Empire Magazine, I was lucky enough to be asked to be in their upcoming edition for July as a featured artist! They had some fun questions to answer and I submitted a few of my favorite pics of my artwork. Be sure to grab a copy!
