tip and an update
I don’t know about you, but I have been completely obsessed with trying to get a good gelli plate print from a magazine.
I see others get fabulous prints and I am like what the heck?! I had tried several magazines that I had in the studio (mostly fashion mags)
that I use for collage, and none of them had worked….. but, as I kept searching for answers about this- I found one helpful hint….
that the page needed to be a shiny. Shiny you say…… so I went searching in my studio for a shinier magazine and found a copy of GQ.
IT WORKED!!
The image above is from my GQ magazine. Now- you are probably looking and thinking- well that kinda looks terrible; but it is really my plate.
My plate is full of grunge and left over paint that didn’t get pulled the last million times. But if you haven’t heard I am into grunge so I was okay with the results.
So- either get a GQ magazine so you can try, or look again in your studio for magazine with shiny pages; and if you find another magazine that looks- let this girl know will you?!
