This class is about creating a junk journal with made and found papers.
This will be a collection of life and the creative beauty of folding in the everyday pieces of it to make our journal. A glimpse into our personal journeys and how our creative paths cross.
We will be letting go of brushes and listening to the moment. Concentrating on mark making and grabbing whatever is within arm’s reach when making our papers. Our variation of our papers will lend itself to our journal and help create not only a nice visual feel, but provide a textural, touch feel as well. I will provide the bulk of the paper for our journal, but it is important that this is journal is yours. So you will need to do some found paper collecting.
What are found papers?
**Found papers- receipts, notes, grocery lists, letters, newspaper clippings, children’s school papers (or grandchildren), old photos, maybe even a piece of junk mail. Any type of papers from everyday life.
Not made a journal before?
No worries- we will stick with some basics; but you are welcome to get as fancy as you would like. I will have the tools and materials we will need to bind our journals and you will leave with own personal junk journal.
